Lyudmyla is a newcomer in Kontias village. A couple of days ago I paid a visit to her workshop and was truly impressed.
Her multi-cultural past has greatly influenced her work. We need to bear in mind that she is born in Siberia by exiled Ukrainian parents.
When she was seven years old she returned to Ukraine where she remained until she came of age. She studied pedagogy at the university and fine arts in the "Hudosnia Scola" of Ternopol city in Ukraine. For the last fourteen years she has been living in Greece although she is a keen traveller and she travels the world in every chance she gets. Despite hardships in childhood, she rejoices at life and her apparent urge for creation is leading her into new ways and means of displaying her talent in painting.
She loves color excessively and she uses it effortlessly on her canvas or on glass painting, so creating a more cheerful and bearable world all arround. Her development is amazing and this can be seen when you shift through her work.
In previous works, folklore is distinguished, both thematically and color-wise. In her current set, cubist imprints of her compositions, the landscapes and the "dreams" are live and vibrating works, witch subtly define another dimension of situations and settings.
Lyudmyla works daily and, via her paintings, bestows upon us her heart and her imagination. With her incredible spontaneity she depicts on the canvas her inspirations and she endeavors to please the people who opt for her work. She is inexhaustible and prescribing to a numerous techniques and "styles", like a thunderstorm she paints themes witch continuously come to her mind. She experiments effectively and is daring where more experienced artists hesitate or give up. She seems determined to grace us with her paintings for years to come, unceasingly enchanting us with her individual angles and her dream-like sequences. We whole-heartedly wish her all the best.
